Road Apple Rally

Each October between 200 and 300 mountain bikers from across the region meet in Farmington, New Mexico to compete in the annual Road Apple Rally. The Road Apple Rally began in 1981 as a competition between horses and bicycles. It has since become a bicycle only race and stands as the longest running annual mountain bike race in the United States. This celebrated mountain bike race features five divisions:

  • Beginner
  • Pro
  • Expert
  • Sport
  • Single Speed

The Beginner course is a 15 mile loop, all others ride the full 30 mile Road Apple Rally course. Both courses feature the whoops, where you spend more time in the air then on the ground! Course terrain also includes short climbs, flats, sandy arroyos and sharp corners.

Restaurants

Bernodone's Italian

A locally owned restaurant begun to give the owner's children an opportunity to learn and to work a business. This restaurant makes their recipes on site not from large buckets of prepared mixes. YEA! Bernodone's also has a Gluten Free menu which is most important for many of those looking to dine. Only 2 miles from our B&B.

Boons Family Thai and Barbeque

My favorite restaurant in Farmington, especially the soups and it is located only two and a half miles from our B&B. One of our guests, who lives in New York City, told us that Boon's would match any Thai restaurant in the Big Apple.

Three Rivers Brewery

Their story: It all started with our love of great beer and great food! We wanted to bring it all together in a unique setting. So, in 1997 the Brewery and Eatery was launched to show our love. Since then we have won many awards and 3RB has become a destination for beer lovers from around the world.

Three Rivers Brewery has brought life to our downtown and many of us are grateful.

Wines of the San Juans

Visit the vineyard and winery, nestled in the arms of the soaring cottonwood trees of the San Juan River Valley. Here you will find a relaxing environment where the wine becomes memories, and time stands still. No matter what your preference, you will discover a wine that is sure to make you fall, heart and soul, in love with our winery.

Bring a picnic lunch along and enjoy a complimentary wine tasting in our courtyard. Our winery is located 40 minutes east of Farmington, New Mexico, two and a half hours north of Albuquerque, and one just hour south of Durango, Colorado.
